Attendance Times: Fri 7.30am-5.00pm, Sat 8am-5pm, Sun 8am-3pm
Attendee Numbers: maximum of 8 attendees to any mentorship
Cost: $2500 AUD, this can be paid in full or in 3 part payments before attending the mentorship either through direct debit or credit card; contact OD on Movement for further details on payment methods.
Payment: All payments must be finalized prior to attending the mentorship, details will be emailed out to potential attendees to assure your position.
Workshop Content: The following topics will be covered in unequivocal detail.
- FUNCTIONAL ANATOMY…Recent times have seen a major break through in how we define functional anatomy, biomechanics and movement. This has lead to a far different and more effective method of creating “change” in the body. Through great researchers like Thomas Myers, Ida Rolph, Andre Vleeming and Steven Levin we have been exposed to findings that now challenge existing science. Science that has dictated how we condition and train the body! Newton’s or Borelli’s Law of levers has big questions about its application and relevance in human movement…we are in fact a Biological system. Come and see the science and experience how we can more effectively change the body with simplistic strategies and a better understanding of fascia…the tissue that connects all!! (Ian O’Dwyer)•
- MOBILIZERS…integrated, innovative movements that enhance and change the body instantly. Do you have clients that are hard to achieve results with? Here you will feel, touch and taste the 5 components of fundamental movement necessary to create “change” in the client. Implementing movements that allow the major complexes (ankle, hip, thorax) of the body to “communicate” better, resulting in decreased discomfort, pain or compensations. If we look at the performance pyramid, we now understand that function is the foundation to fitness, skill and technique; simply put poor function results in poor results. No matter whether you train chronic, sedentary, active or elite clients understanding the foundation of fundamental movement is a must. (Ian O’Dwyer)
- POWER OF PLAY…intensity, innovation, challenge and interaction all whilst having FUN. We investigate how clients regain the fun aspect of their training session helping them to achieve better results in all aspects of their lives. Understanding the body better allows us to implement simplistic drills or games into sessions, which enhances the client’s enjoyment of exercise whilst improving their fundamental movement. Neuroscience shows that fun and laughter decrease stress in the body; come and experience simplistic fun filled challenges that will have you laughing and puffing whilst improving fundamental movement. - PROGRAM DESIGN…understanding how to better meet your clients where they need to be met. How do you start your sessions? Is it from an assessment/questionnaire direction or do you lay them down for a quite time? Maybe you are one of those geeks that play games to change their emotional state! When do you progress or regress their programs/sessions. Every time I train a client I ask myself “where do my clients need to be met today”? Do you? How do you close your sessions? Are they so fatigued and sore that they don’t want to come back? How do I get them to achieve their results? This is a great session”!(Ian O’Dwyer)!!
- RHYTHM OF THE ENTIRE SYSTEM! This is a session that looks at the brilliance of the body…truly listening rather than telling. Using specific techniques to achieve true rhythm not only enhances movement but also affects the brain on many levels. Too many times in our industry we talk about the body, but we can t forget the brain! By enhancing both of these amazing mechanisms you will observe huge improvements in your clients on many areas. This is an extremely powerful session in creating long-term success for you and your clients. (Rodney Corn)!
- ENERGY SYSTEMS…this is such an important area that is constantly overlooked and misunderstood. To achieve the goals of our clients (lean body mass, weight loss, wellness, sports specific) we MUST understand what stress (hormones) are necessary and required to enhance the body; is the cient’s body anabolic or catabolic during/after their session. Whatever their goal, heart rate recovery, cardiac endurance or recovery regeneration? If we don’t know then we will struggle to achieve success. This is a session that you can’t afford to miss! Each day will conclude with a practical session either in the studio or at an outdoor location, enabling all attendees to apply all information from that day.
Notes: There will be handouts available for all attendees from the topics covered.
Necessities: All attendees should come with an open mind and be prepared to question everything that is said to be known and unknown. Also be prepared to play, so bring training gear and apparel that is conducive to movement for the sessions.
Catering: All attendees will supply their own breakfast and lunches. These are available through Cafes in and around the Fitness Personally studio. If you require any information please contact us at the studio so we can help with any enquiries.
Dinner will be supplied by OD on Movement on Friday and Saturday evenings; there will be closing drinks and nibbles on the Sunday supplied also by OD on Movement. Filtered water and fresh fruit and snacks will be available and supplied through out the days by OD on Movement.
Travel: There are two airports, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast (Maroochydore). Both of these have very good shuttle services to and from the airport. It would be easier to fly in and out of the Sunshine Coast (Maroochydore) if possible due to the proximity to Noosa Heads (20 mins). Brisbane shuttle (2 hrs, res@sunair.com.au ) will cost you $46 each way and the Sunshine Coast shuttle (Henry’s) will cost you approx $25 each way.
Accommodation: There are many options in beautiful Noosa if you Google “http://www.accomnoosa.com.au/” there will be options for houses, apartments etc but otherwise look at promotions on various holiday websites. If you need more help please contact us at OD on Movement.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellation fees will apply, 10% of the course fee will apply if cancellation takes place no closer than 30 days from the course date. If cancellation occurs within 30 days of the course date there will be a 20% fee applied.
Participation Questionnaire/Waiver: As there will be movement and hands on workshops it is important that all attendees complete a questionnaire before participating in the mentorship concerning health and wellness. This will be sent out to you prior to your attendance.
